Türkiye's largest wind energy initiative: 500 MW mega project launching in Sivas

Türkerler Energy Group is bringing Türkiye's largest wind energy project, with a capacity of 500 MW, to life in Sivas. The project will supply clean energy to 650,000 households and prevent 1.1 million tons of CO2 emissions per year.

Türkerler Energy Group won the tender for a 500 MW wind energy site in Sivas in the YEKA RES 2025 competition organized by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. This achievement represents the largest wind energy project to be implemented in a single phase in Türkiye and elevates the country's ambitions in the renewable energy field to a new level.

CLEAN ENERGY FOR 650,000 HOUSEHOLDS

Once fully commissioned, the project will generate 1.75 TWh of clean electricity annually. This amount is capable of meeting the annual energy consumption of approximately 650,000 households. At the same time, based on the Türkiye electricity grid, it is targeted to prevent more than 1.1 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. These figures clearly demonstrate the magnitude of the project's environmental impact.

A CRITICAL STEP IN THE ENERGY TRANSITION

Ali Kındap, CEO of Türkerler Energy Group, emphasized that the investment marks a critical stage in Türkiye's energy transition. Kındap said, 'With this large-scale wind investment, we are making a significant contribution to Türkiye's low-carbon growth process. By converting the natural power of wind into electricity generation at competitive costs, we are supporting energy supply security, the reduction of external dependency, and climate targets.' He also noted that the project will contribute to the 2053 net zero vision and provide industry with sustainable energy at predictable costs.

A DOUBLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Within the scope of the project, the aim is also to provide direct and indirect employment for hundreds of people in the regional economy and to create new business opportunities for local suppliers. Environmental and social impact management will be carried out in line with national legislation and international best practices. Utilizing advanced wind turbine technologies that prioritize the highest efficiency and environmental standards, the project stands out as a strong investment in Türkiye's green energy future.
